Welcome to the UC San Diego
Psychiatry Residency Program

The Department of Psychiatry Residency Training Program is developmental in nature, appropriately challenging the residents at each level as they move from intensively supervised beginners to autonomous, confident, skilled and experienced clinicians and colleagues at graduation.

The Psychiatry Department takes great pride in our residents and we feel we can offer a compelling and challenging educational experience. We hope our website helps with your questions. If there is something you would like more explanation on please don't hesitate to contact us at (858) 534-4040.

UCSD Psychiatry Residency program has been rated #3 in the West and #1 of all UCSD Training programs by Doximity, which assists in helping medical students and physicians make informed decisions in the residency process. The exceptional ratings by former residents as well as the outstanding scholarly statistics upholds the program's commitment to providing the highest standard of living and education.

Community and Public Psychiatry is the future of our profession. As our healthcare system changes and collaboration between academic, public, community and private sector become the norm, we need psychiatrists who will be clinician leaders. Our Fellowship program’s vision is to train the next generation of Community / Public Psychiatry Clinicians and Leaders.

UCSD Community Psychiatry Fellowship Program has 2 positions that are open for 2014-2015. They are available for PGY4 or PGY5 level of training. Please check out our website.
